Hi, my name is Iain Lovatt.
My wife, Mary, and I fell in love with Stouffville when we made the move from Unionville in 2007 with our children Maizie, Aidan, and Ellie. Our love for this community has only grown over the years as our family began to participate in the community through the kids' schools, my son's hockey teams and my daughters' involvement in the Stouffville Steppers. We love walking down Main St. and bumping into people we know–people who love this town as much as we do. We have made W-S not just a place to live, but a place we call home.
Iain has over 25-years of experience in youth work, charity and business management. His career began in church ministry work at The Well, an innovative youth church located in Langley B.C. While in B.C., Iain co-founded a number of technology companies that focused on youth marketing, internet radio and entertainment. Iain returned to his Ontario roots in 2002 when he joined the Muskoka Woods management team as Director of Marketing and the Director of Business Development. True to his entrepreneurial roots, Iain & his wife were part of a team that opened Main Street Bakehouse on Main Street in Stouffville. Iain first ran for office in 2010 and was elected as Ward 5 Councillor in 2014. Iain is an active member of council and serves on the following committees:
In his spare time, Iain enjoys writing and performing music and running through the streets of Stouffville.
